Group B (group-b.co.uk) · Last updated: 21 October 2026
This website, group-b.co.uk (“the Site”), is operated by Daniel Boland (“we”, “us”, “our”), an individual trading as Group B. We are the “data controller” for the personal information described in this policy.
You can contact us about privacy at groupbtelevision@gmail.com.
The Site publishes automotive news. We want to be clear about what information we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our web host and our WordPress software automatically record certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, and the website you came from. This is stored in server logs and is used to keep the Site running securely.
Cookies and similar technologies. The Site uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. See section 6 for the full list.
Information you give us. If you contact us by email or a contact form, leave a comment on an article, subscribe to a newsletter, or create an account, we collect what you provide, such as your name, email address, website address and the content of your message or comment.
Information from third parties. If the Site uses embedded content (for example YouTube videos or social media posts), advertising or analytics services, those providers may collect information about your visit. See section 5.
We do not knowingly collect any special category data (such as health, religion or political opinions), and we do not sell your personal information.
Other information we may collect. Depending on how you use the Site, we may also collect your approximate location (worked out from your IP address), your account details and preferences, purchase and billing information if you buy from us or become a member, your responses to surveys or competitions, and your interactions with our emails and social media pages. Sections 14 to 17 explain these further.
Under UK and EU data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We rely on the following:
In practice, we use your information to display the Site and its content, respond to your messages, publish and moderate comments, send newsletters you have signed up to, measure Site performance, and protect the Site from security threats.
If we want to use your information for a new purpose that is not described in this policy, we will update the policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before going ahead.
We only share personal information where necessary, with:
If the Site is ever sold or reorganised, personal information may be transferred to the new owner, who must continue to protect it in line with this policy.
Articles on the Site may include content from other websites, such as YouTube videos, social media posts or maps. These services may set their own cookies and collect information about you when you view or interact with that content. We do not control this, so please read their privacy policies.
Services we use include Google AdSense (advertising), Google Analytics (installed through the Site Kit by Google plugin), YouTube embeds, Jetpack and WordPress (the software that runs the Site), and CookieYes (which manages your cookie choices).

If you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense and its partners (for example through googlesyndication.com, doubleclick.net and google.com) may set cookies on your device to show and measure adverts. Videos or other embedded content (such as YouTube) may also set their own cookies once you accept the relevant category and view that content. The names and durations of these cookies are controlled by those providers and can change, so please see their policies for current details.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings button (the small icon at the bottom-left corner of every page), or by adjusting your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
Our Site is read worldwide, and some of our service providers are based outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision recognised by the UK or EU.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above:
We may keep some information longer where the law requires it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
These rights apply under UK GDPR and EU GDPR. Residents of some other regions, including California and other US states, have similar rights under local laws, and we will honour valid requests wherever we reasonably can. We do not sell personal information for money, although advertising cookies from Google may count as “sharing” under some US state laws, which you can opt out of through the cookie settings button described in section 6.
To use any of these rights, email us at groupbtelevision@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. We may need to verify your identity first.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority where you live. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including keeping our WordPress installation, themes and plugins updated and using secure (HTTPS) connections. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
The Site contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
If we show adverts or work with advertising partners, those partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show you ads based on your browsing, measure how ads perform and prevent fraud. We may also include affiliate links, where we earn a commission if you buy something after clicking, and sponsored content, which we will clearly label.
Our advertising partners act as independent controllers of the data they collect for their own purposes. Where required, we will only set advertising cookies with your consent, which you can withdraw through the cookie settings button described in section 6. You can also opt out of personalised advertising through tools such as youronlinechoices.com (UK and EU), optout.aboutads.info (US) or your device settings.
Google AdSense. We use Google AdSense to display adverts on the Site. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this Site and other websites, and to measure how those ads perform. Google acts as an independent controller of the data it collects through AdSense, and handles it under its own privacy policy. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage or turn off personalised ads in your Google account at adssettings.google.com. If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, we will ask for your consent through our cookie banner before personalised ads are shown.
If we offer accounts, memberships, subscriptions or a shop, we will collect what we need to set these up and run them, such as your name, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), delivery and billing address, and purchase history.
Payments are handled by third-party payment processors such as PayPal UK, and we do not store your full card details. We use this information to provide what you have bought, take payment, prevent fraud, send order and account messages, and keep the financial records the law requires, which in the UK is generally six years.
If you subscribe to our newsletter or marketing emails, we use your email address (and name, if you give it) to send you updates. We rely on your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us. We may track whether emails are opened and links clicked so we can improve our content.
If you take part in a survey, poll or competition, we use your responses to run it, announce winners and improve the Site, and we will explain anything specific at the time.
Comments, forum posts and other content you submit publicly can be seen by anyone and may be indexed by search engines, so please do not include information you want to keep private.
California and other US states. Some US state laws give residents the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Over the past 12 months we may have collected identifiers (such as IP address), internet activity (such as pages viewed) and, if you contact us, contact details. We do not sell personal information for money. Some analytics or advertising cookies may count as “sharing” under certain state laws, and you can opt out through the cookie settings button described in section 6. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.
Other countries. If you live in Canada, Australia, Brazil, South Africa or another country with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights. Contact us at groupbtelevision@gmail.com and we will deal with your request under the law that applies to you.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. There is no common standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them or to Global Privacy Control signals. You can control cookies at any time through the cookie settings button described in section 6.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the “last updated” date at the top. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in a suitable way, such as a notice on the Site.
